Founded by retired registered nurse, Virginia Monnakgotla, the institute caters especially for learners who have not gained entry into other tertiary institutions, and individuals from local communities where HIV/AIDS is prevalent. The institute accepts students from all townships in Gauteng and other provinces, as well as individuals who are struggling to find formal employment.
GEM Health Care Workers Training endeavors to create positive attitudes to the previously disadvantaged youth, enabling them to take their place in participating within the South African health profession through training.
These modules allow successful students the opportunity of employment in old age home, children’s homes, private homes, hospices, home based care facilities and hospitals.
